A Flutter fleet app for Pakistani routes where the signal is worst

1 The problem

A logistics operator ran thousands of vehicles on paper notes and phone calls. Nobody could say where a shipment was without ringing the driver. Proof of delivery arrived days later. Two dispatchers planned routes from memory. The last “GPS app” they bought only worked in the vendor’s office Wi-Fi.

2 Our approach

The constraint was connectivity: basements, industrial estates, rural Punjab. The Flutter app is offline-first — capture locally, queue, sync when a tower appears. Signatures and photos are compressed on the phone. Route optimisation runs overnight and adjusts for traffic. Customers get an SMS tracking link that does not assume 4G. SoftCity’s mobile practice in Islamabad still owns the crash-free rate.

3 What we built

  • Offline-first Flutter app with a background sync queue
  • Proof of delivery with signature and compressed photo
  • Live GPS with geofenced arrival and departure
  • Overnight routing plus live traffic adjustment
  • Customer tracking links by SMS
  • Fuel and driver-behaviour reporting
